Egg Bread for French Toast

The other day I took pictures of our breakfast and my husband laughed at me. He said, “It’s only breakfast. No one cares.” He was joking, and he was WRONG. That post became my most commented on photo of the week.

Now don’t go getting excited. I still haven’t learned how to properly make bread dough and have it rise correctly. I used my bread maker for this as well.

Holy huge loaf of bread! I followed the instructions to make a 2 lb loaf and am pretty sure this is the largest loaf of bread I’ve ever made.

I had to slice it and then cut it in half to make it fit in my French Toast batter. I love the texture of this bread. It has the perfect ratio of lightness and crumble.

I also learned that in Britain they call French Toast Eggy Bread, which was my inspiration for using this bread to make French Toast. I have a weird sense of humor. Using Egg Bread to make Eggy Bread makes me laugh.

This turned out so good. I will definitely make it again. Let me know what you think as well.
